Ike Leggett Honored at Pre-Inaugural Reception
Isiah "Ike" Leggett celebrated his victory as the first African American to be elected Montgomery County Executive with hundreds of supporters at a Pre-Inaugural Reception held in his honor on December 3, 2006, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Rockville. Hosted by the African American Democratic Club of Montgomery County (AADCMC), the reception featured a presentation to Ike's wife, Catherine, live entertainment, and recognition of numerous community, business and political leaders. Leggett, who served 16 years on the County Council, promised to make the community "proud of my leadership."
